Q: I have never hired a narrowboat before, is this a problem?
This is not a problem as our boat is very easy to handle and one of our experienced licensed staff will give you a full demonstration, guiding you
through the handling of the boat as well as the opening and closing of locks. Please be assured that our staff will not hand the boat over to
you until you are satisfied and confident.
Q: Is my holiday narrowboat licensed for all waterways?
Yes, your boat is licensed for all the canals within our region and beyond
Q: Will I need to fill the water tank on the boat?
Yes, however, your tank will be full on the day of departure. Also there are many water points along the waterways, normally at least every 4 – 6
hours cruising. Always try to fill up with water at least once a day. Remember you are not connected to the mains! British Waterways (water tap)
Key will be provided.
Q: Can I bring my pet on the holiday narrowboat?
Yes, this can be arranged before you book your holiday. There is a charge of £30 per pet per week.
Q: Can I bring my fishing rod along?
Yes, provided that the boat is moored up with the engine switched off, also you will have to hold a full up to date Rod Licence.
Q: Will the children be safe and enjoy their holiday on the narrowboat?
Yes, in fact older children will more than likely take over! Asking to drive the boat (under supervision of course!)
If you have active children there are plenty of locks and open countryside for them to enjoy.
SAFETY: Canals are fundamentally safe places and are not very deep: Nevertheless, we do advise that you wear a buoyancy aid when moving around the outside of the boat – these are available free of charge and should be requested on arrival.
